Singaporeans in general are becoming more stupid

They think tat education is everything and will provide them with everything... but sadly... tats far from the truth... alot of people now esp. so called 'elites' talk as though they have achieved alot when infact they haven't... u tink scoring less than 10 pts is a big deal?

I am willing to bet that if i gave u a simple out of textbook problem you won't be able to do it, simply because u have no real world experience and has basically reach the stage of where you tink u alreadi noe everything...

Poly really teaches people different things, the focus is on skill... example, engineering knownledge, the ability to invent, create new things from new ideas... engineers are among the highest paid people in the world because they create value...

Can u 'whooops' create anything? besides bullsh*t of course

Rubbish lah. JC students continuing their education in uni also have to go attachments. A degree is also specialized as well.

JC students will be as well as prepared as us, the only thing is, who can find a job and do well in that field.

Moving a little off-topic, if we set the criteria of JCs, CI, Polys and ITE requirements to be the same, will we have the same problem?

just go ask any smu student..smu methods of teaching is quite diff from NUS and NTU which is more catered towards the JC people style..

anyway i won't generalize that JC people are childish,if not i'm commiting the exact same fallacy as the threadstarter..its just that no matter where u go,or how good you're in ur studies.education can still make u stupid. Laughing

Laughing I don't called them as FT, cause they are only doing work cheaper than what local singaporean can do.

i admit i'm inferior in certain ways as compared to a JC student,and i hope they do not think that they're superior in every aspect..

i just wana see some mutual respect between both parties..

and the government could help this cause alot...instead of promoting the elitist mindset..

Education does not warrant your success in your life. It's only knowledge that you had obtained during your course of study. On the way, it's may give you more directions to look at a things or event.

A certificate is only stating that you had completed a course. It does not indicated whether you are really learnted or no. Having good result only show you are good in academic only.

Main purpose of education is to learnt new things or how thing works, etc. Unfortunately, here education = certificate = career. Laughing

They can't scrap A Levels for one.

Two, I doubt they will want to make the criteria to enter JC and poly the same, because CI is already doing a good job for it.

i call them talents is because the kinda work they produce is as good or even better than what we can produce...

one of the many reasons why they command a lower pay is because their paper qualifications are not recognized in sg...

high pay doesnt mean they are talented... it's the way our society see them...

i have seen FTs from western countries producing work way lousier than those from china or india...
